There is a possibility that a property falls into more than one flood zone. For example, the structure itself could be on higher ground and not within the boundaries of a flood zone, but a portion of the property could be lower and within a flood zone. When this is the case, if any portion of a property is within a flood zone, the parcel is designated within a flood zone.
The flood map layers Matrix uses are government flood maps, and they are provided to help customers understand the degree of potential flood involvement.
