All Matrix emails show as coming from someone else

If it looks like all of your Matrix emails are coming from someone else (rather than your own name), it's usually because you've saved the generic Matrix mail server email address (smart@northeastmatrixmail.com) to one of your Contacts in your email account or on your phone Contacts.

Since every email is technically coming from that email address, anytime you send an email from Matrix, it shows as having come from that particular Contact (instead of yourself).

You should look for a contact in your email or phone for that particular person (the one whose name keeps showing up when a Matrix email is received) and remove smart@northeastmatrixmail.com as the email address and this will go away.
