How to date a Coming Soon Addendum

We understand that it can be confusing to figure out the correct dates to enter when completing the Coming Soon Addendum. This article is designed to simplify the process of filling out this form.

First and foremost, you must have a valid listing agreement giving you the right to market the property. Assuming you have obtained that, you can direct your focus to completing the Coming Soon Addendum and getting the seller's signature.

There are three date fields on the Coming Soon Addendum:

  1. Listing Effective Date- this should be the date your listing agreement goes into effect. This date must be before the Go Active Date.

  2. List Date- this is the date the listing will be saved in the MLS as a Coming Soon listing. This date must be before the Go Active Date.

  3. Go Active Date- this is the date the listing is set to convert from the Coming Soon status to Active in Matrix (note: the Matrix system makes this change automatically right after midnight on the Go Active Date).

You must upload the fully executed Coming Soon Addendum (using the Private- Coming Soon Addendum supplement type) in Manage Supplements while the listing is still in the Incomplete status.
